Wristcutters: A LOVE Story

Few weeks ago in one of my last minute decision to go see a movie ( the only way i can go to the cinema ) I saw this clever and unusually entertaining movie. Heartbroken by a break-up Zia slits his wrists only to wake up in the afterlife: a purgatory populated exclusively by other suicides. Learning that his ex has also taken her life, he hooks up with a former Russian rock star and a moody Goth hitchhiker and sets off on a road trip to find her. Their road trip becomes filled with witty and absurd moments as well as poignant revelations for all 3 characters. At the end - love saves it all.

Grand LOVE

Grand Amour by Annick Goutal is a a great parfume with equally great name to match. Annick Goutal's tribute to the greatest love of her life, her husband. Brings to mind a sensual, serene and mature women. Like a grand love should be - mature. I bought it for my mom few months ago :)

LOVE storm

Easily one of my favorite paintings at the MET.
Some suggested the Greek romance Daphnis and Chloe and others the romantic tale Paul et Virginie.
I love the way she is barefooted and he is holding her so safely...and they are so young and no nothing of love yet.

LOVE knows no lie

"... If Maurice were here he would tell you that sex is perhaps a greater, but in no way a different, pleasure from any other. He would tell you that it is only one part - and not the essential part - in the relationship we call love. He would tell you that the essential part is truth, the trust two people build between their minds. Their souls. What you will. That the real infidelity is the one that hides the sexual infidelity. Because the one thing that must never come between two people who have offered each other love is a lie."

The Magus, John Fowles

LOVE is...

I love these comics originally by Kim Casali created as love notes for her husband-to-be.

Drowning in LOVE

LOVE in a morning cup

These were 3 cups of cappucino made for us in Rome on Via Giulia.
Love takes patience and practise.

Winter sans LOVE

"Autumn is here and who ever is alone will remain so for a long
time " I feel these words are for me. This winter is not about LOVE...but yet I was never more seduced by the idea of it.

Autumn Day

Lord: it is time. The summer was immense.
Lay your shadow on the sundials
and let loose the wind in the fields.

Bid the last fruits to be full;
give them another two more southerly days,
press them to ripeness, and chase
the last sweetness into the heavy wine.

Whoever has no house now will not build one
anymore.
Whoever is alone now will remain so for a long
time,
will stay up, read, write long letters,
and wander the avenues, up and down,
restlessly, while the leaves are blowing.

Rainer Maria Rilke
